Looking to rectify a loss from week one, the Knoxville Football Squad will play in Ken Locke Stadium for the first time this season as the Panthers host Clarke. Knoxville fell in heartbreaking fashion to Boone last week after holding a 14 point lead in the 1st half. Coach Matt Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this is not the Clarke teams of old, when the Panthers could get an easy win without much effort. Dunkin says Clarke can do several things well and have athletes all over the field. He adds he wants his guys to come out with the right attitude and be ready to play for the first home game of the season.
Dunkin: “Focus on what we can control, our attitude, intensity, and effort. We were in the right places most of the time last week, and just clean that up a little bit and be ready to go for four quarters and we should be all right.”
Knoxville has dominated the on again/off again series through the years with a 35-3 edge, however the Panthers and Indians have not played since 2007 when Knoxville won 19-0. Listen for all of the action on 95.3 KNIA starting at 6:30 with the kick off at 7:30.
