The Pleasantville football team is hoping their offense can keep “cooking” as they head into week three.

The Trojans improved to 2-0 on the season with their 28-14 win over Woodward-Granger Friday night. A large part of the offensive success so far this year has come from running back Caleb Cook. The senior has a staggering eight touchdowns and 561 all purpose yards so far through two games to lead class 1A. Additionally, Cook ranks third in both statistical categories regardless of class. The senior attributed his early season success to the production of his offensive line.

“Credit to my offensive lineman and then my teammates for helping me do that. Been waiting to do this for a long time and excited to see what we can do as the season goes on.”

Pleasantville and Cook will look to finish non-district play undefeated Friday night when they host Lynnville-Sully.
