The Indianola City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening, due to the Labor Day holiday, where Mayor Stephanie Erickson read a proclamation declaring September as Library Card Sign-Up Month. The council approved appointments to boards and commissions, a rezoning request and a plat of survey for 1101 West 12th Avenue, but failed a vote to waive the second and third reading of the request. The council also approved a settlement in lieu of a public hearing regarding complaints filed on tobacco sales permit violations for Indy North, and a major site plan application for an expansion to an automobile sales area for DeYarman Ford.

The council was scheduled to meet in a joint session with the Warren County Board of Supervisors earlier in the evening to discuss dispatch services, however that meeting was canceled Tuesday afternoon.
