The Norwalk boys and girls cross country teams will compete in their second meet of the season today, traveling to Marshalltown Community College for the Bobcat Invitational at 4:00 p.m. A large field of nearly 25 schools is expected to participate.

The Norwalk boys will be aiming for their second team title in as many tries after winning the Kirk Schmaltz Invite in Ames on August 28. The Warriors moved up five spots to No. 4 in this week’s Class 4A team rankings, released Tuesday by the Iowa Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches. Two Norwalk individuals are also ranked in 4A: senior Noah Buhrow at 27th and junior Tony Anania 28th.

The Norwalk girls, who finished 10th at last week’s meet in Ames, will look to continue a strong pack-running mentality in their second competition.
