The City of Knoxville is requesting proposals for a grants administrator and design services to assist with a project.

The project is seeking funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program through the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The proposed project includes rehabilitation of at least eight facades in Knoxville. This is part of a continued effort to improve the façade of the Knoxville community and revitalize buildings downtown.

Knoxville City Manager Heather Ussery mentioned that this project is comparable to the Elite Dance project.

“I refer to it as when you think of the Elite Dance façade project. It is similar to that but it’s eight facades total happening all at once so it’s a much larger project. It makes just as big of an impact as Elite did. That was a big building there so we will be applying for that later this fall but there are positions and some work the city has to have in place before we apply.”

Proposals are due by October 2nd and more information about these position requirements can be found on the city website www.knoxvilleia.gov
