melcher-dallas-7

The Melcher-Dallas Volleyball Squad scored its first win of the season on Thursday with a three sets to one victory over Moulton-Udell 25-20, 25-17, 24-26, and 25-13. Gabby Overgaard had ten kills while Saydi Benz collected seven and had three solo blocks. Karsyn Mateer had a perfect night serving going 20/20 with five aces, while the team totaled 30 aces for the night. The Saints are now 1-3 on the season and are off until Tuesday when they host Murray at Southeast Warren High School.

The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad hopes this week is better than last week. The Saints gave up 92 points to Belle Plaine in a 92-6 loss last week and play a Montezuma squad that was upset by Moravia in a high scoring affair. The Saints were also hampered with injuries and Coach Pat Ferguson hopes that they will be in a better position this week.

Ferguson: “Montezuma is going to come in with a chip on their shoulder and we know that’s not a good thing. We know what they can do. We also hope to have a better position with our injury situation or it’ll be a long night.”

Kick off is set for seven.
