New housing growth is an issue facing the Indianola City Council over the next several years, including locating the best places to concentrate infrastructure and city resources towards supporting developers and growing strategically. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the council and city staff will have to weigh multiple options before making any large decisions.

“The south end of town does have opportunity for growth, but more growth is taking place in the north area of town, yet there are some barriers to growth out there. So the council is really looking at where are the best places to put our resources to open up areas of expansion of our community holistically, not just in one area.”
