pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville volleyball team went 4-1 at the Chariton tournament on Saturday.

The Trojans dropped the first match of the day  to North Mahaska 0-2 (11-21,17-21). After the loss, it was all Trojans the rest of the day. Pleasantville then defeated Albia 2-1 (23-21, 17-21, 15-6) in their second match and Southeast Warren 2-0 (21-18, 21-13) in the third match of the day. The Trojans closed out with victories against Wayne 2-0 (21-8, 21-16) and then another win against Southeast Warren 2-0 (21-17, 21-16).

Pleasantville Coach Joel Allman commented that his team did really well today, and their serving was good, and the serve receive was solid as usual. Allman also mentioned that the Trojans got a lot of quality swings from all of his hitters and that it would’ve been nice to win the tournament, but was really happy with how his girls responded after the first match.

After the tournament, Pleasantville improves to 11-5 on the season and will be back in action Tuesday at the Wayne triangular.
