The PACE Alliance held its annual Golf Outing on Friday, August 18th. The themed event “Kickin it Old School” brought together 128 members/golfers, 26 sponsors, and over 30 volunteers, including members of the Pella Fire Department for a retro inspired day filled with nostalgia, fun, and fundraising on the Bos Landen Golf Course.
Together they raised $5,500 for the Pella Fire Department, with PACE Alliance Member Alter Metal Recycling donating an additional check of $1,500, and funds to support the activities and events of the PACE Alliance.
Golf Committee Chairs Tim Te Grootenhuis and Vicki Cowman along with committee members Trisha Klok and Chris Meyers organized this year’s golf outing with an extra purpose in mind – to give back to those who sacrifice their time and lives to protect businesses and citizens in the event of fire and accidents.
“The Committee not only wanted a fun networking event where PACE Members could engage, but we wanted to do something to give back to the Pella area. The Pella Fire Department volunteers and works to keep our community safe. With the recent purchase of a new fire truck, they needed a new water valve that would ensure proper function in times of emergency. We were honored to raise funds to make sure they have the equipment they need to keep everyone safe,” said Chairman Tim Te Grootenhuis.
