Harvest season will be ramping up in the next couple of weeks across south central Iowa.

With large farm machinery set to be on the highways and rural roads, Justin Huebner with Two Rivers Cooperative says drivers should be extra vigilant when traveling.

“I think the biggest thing is just to slow down and understand that it’s going to take a little bit of extra time. Nobody wants to be going that slow but that’s as fast as the equipment goes, and so slowing down, giving some extra time to brake, and then know that getting around that equipment can be challenging. So, just slow down, take your time, and know that the farmers are doing the best they can.”
