A potential government shutdown could be coming at the end of September if the U.S. Congress can’t agree to a budget solution. U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says while there is agreement in the senate that there should be at least a continuing resolution to keep the federal government open, there are more possible issues in the house that could cause a possible partial shutdown.

“It costs money to shut down government. It costs money to open up government. Government is supposed to be a service to the people and it can’t service the people if you aren’t operating. I don’t think there’s a threat to our national security because I think our military will be paid, our social security checks will go out, stuff like that, but it’s just not a good way to do business and I just hope it doesn’t happen.”
