Peace Tree Brewing Company is seeking new ownership to carry its craft beer legacy forward.
Megan McKay, who founded Peace Tree 15 years ago, announced Thursday that she is seeking a new owner or ownership group to propel the company forward. When McKay founded Peace Tree, it was one of Iowa’s first craft breweries and it was the first 100% woman owned brewery in the state.
Peace Tree started as a small taproom in Knoxville for McKay’s desire to create a place for community, connections, and conversations. In 2017, Peace Tree opened a Des Moines location in the Historic East Village. The brewery now has evolved into a full-scale production facility with distribution networks across Iowa and Nebraska. McKay is now looking for fresh ownership to take the brewery to the next level.
As Peace Tree looks for new ownership, the brewery will still operate uninterrupted during normal business hours.
