Pella Christian is holding a fundraiser for junior Alex Van Gorp and his family at their home football game against Pleasantville tonight.

Born with heart disease, Alex underwent his fifth open heart surgery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 23rd. This most recent surgery came due to an illness he got just 11 months after his fourth surgery. Fans attending tonight’s football game are encouraged to bring one dollar or more or a gift card for the family as they remain in Oklahoma for Alex’s Treatment. Suggestions for gift cards include Dunkin Donuts, Culver’s, McDonalds, or gas cards. Alex’s father Duane said that the family has greatly appreciated the community’s continued support.

“It’s overwhelming, it really is pretty cool to have that many people, back home supporting us and it’s been super fantastic to have the support.”
