Marion County Development Commission hosted state lawmakers during a quarterly meeting in Pella Friday.
Lt. Governor Adam Gregg, State Senator Ken Rozenboom, and Representative Barb Kniff-McCulla spoke during the Connect session held at Vermeer Corporation. The main topics covered were discussions about state legislation ongoing related to infrastructure, economic growth, commerce, and taxation.
Gregg gave an update about Empower Rural Iowa and its impacts locally, and praised the work of local leaders related to development.
Among those in attendance were representatives from county, Pella, and Knoxville government and non-profit organizations, as well as lobbyists at the state level.
