For the first time since 2016, the Marion County Eight-Man Trophy has a new home. The Twin Cedars Football Squad broke a six game losing streak in its series with Melcher-Dallas and scored a win over the Saints 28-18 in the renewal of one of Iowa’s Biggest Small Town Rivalries. The Sabers took advantage of turnovers by Melcher-Dallas to score a safety and a scoop and score touchdown. The Saints were able to stay close with two touchdown grabs from C.J. Smith, but turnovers allowed a defensive touchdown and a safety to Twin Cedars. Even with Coach Cam Parker not at the game due to an illness, the Sabers were able to get the job done. Twin Cedars is 1-4 on the season and will travel to Moravia next week. The Saints are 0-5 and will host Lamoni next week.
