The Pella Christian Volleyball team competed in the North Mahaska Invite on Saturday and went 4-1 en route to a second place finish in the tournament.

In pool play, the Eagles earned sweeps in three of their four matches on the day. Pella Christian’s 2-0 victories came against Tri County (21-4, 21-17), HLV (21-7, 21-9), and North Mahaska (25-13, 25-17). The lone three set match for the Eagles in pool play was a 2-1 win over Pleasantville (19-21, 21-12, 17-15). After concluding pool play, Pella Christian again faced the Trojans, this time in the championship. In what was yet another three set battle, the Eagles fell to Pleasantville 2-1 (19-25, 25-22, 10-15), bringing home a second place finish. Annika Van Dyke posted a team-high 30 kills on the day, while Emerson De Vries had 14 aces and Faith Kacmarynski recorded 43 digs.

With their performance Saturday, Pella Christian improved to 9-10 on the season ahead of a Little Hawkeye Conference showdown at Oskaloosa on Tuesday.
