The Pleasantville volleyball team won the North Mahaska volleyball invite Saturday and PCM finished fifth.

The Trojans went 4-1 on the day and concluded the tournament with a win over Pella Christian to claim the championship. Pleasantville started the day defeating HLV 2-1 (21-9, 22-24, 15-11) and then lost to Pella Christian 1-2 (21-19, 12-21, 15-17). The Trojans rebounded after the loss to win their next two matches against Tri-County 2-0 (21-8, 21-11) and Lynnville-Sully 2-0 (25-14, 25-17). Pleasantville closed out their day with a victory over Pella Christian in the championship match 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-10). 

PCM went 1-2 in pool play to start the day, but won their last two matches of the tournament to win the consolation bracket and finish fifth overall. The Mustangs won their first match of the day defeating Pekin 2-0 (21-18, 21-14). They then lost their next two matches to North Mahaska 0-2 (10-21, 18-21) and a close one to Lynnville-Sully 0-2 (20-22, 19-21). The Mustangs rallied to win their last two matches of the day defeating Tri-County 2-1 (25-22, 22-25, 15-10) and HLV 2-0 (25-16, 25-13) to win the consolation bracket and finish fifth at the tournament. 

After the tournament, Pleasantville improves to 17-6 overall and PCM moves to 10-10 on the season. Both teams are back in action Tuesday night with Pleasantville facing Madrid and PCM hosting West Marshall.
