It was the Ricky Thornton Jr. Show this weekend at the Knoxville Raceway as he swept all of the A-Mains in the 19th Running of the Lucas Oil Late Model Nationals presented by Your Life Iowa, becoming the first driver to sweep the weekend since Billy Moyer completed the sweep in 2010. Thornton led the first ten laps, before Mike Marlar took the lead on lap 11 and 12. The two would swap the lead about every four laps until Thornton took the lead for good on the 23rd of the 75 lap race. Even three yellow and two red flag periods could not slow down Thornton. Marlar settled for 2nd with Hudson O’Neal completing the podium. The Malvern Bank Super Late Model series was also in action and Justin Zeitner won that feature race. This brings an end to the 2023 season at the Knoxville Raceway. Stay tuned for information regarding the 2024 schedule when it is released.
