The Knoxville Community School District will kick off Homecoming week today.

Homecoming Week is an exciting time for Knoxville Community School District and a way to show pride in being a Panther. The high school will have different dress up days all week including color day, bikers vs surfers, rhyme without reason, dress like your favorite staff, and spirit day. The week is full of activities including dodgeball, powder puff, iron man, homecoming pep rally, crowning of the king and queen, parade, and of course, the football game Friday night.

This year’s homecoming queen candidates are Faith Roozeboom, Kate Schneider, Brittany Bacorn, Lily Wahl, and Janae Baker. The king candidates are Dakota Ramsey, Jay Keller, Gage Chapman, George Gilbert, and Noah Keefer.

Knoxville Student Senate Sponsor Whitney McWilliams said homecoming week is an important week to be able to make memories.

“Every year we just encourage our kids to be as involved as possible. Sign up, do activities, dress up, make those memories. You only get four and our student senate kids work extremely hard from July until now helping organize.”
