The south parking lot and alley on the downtown Indianola square is set to open for commuters and parking today, after months of construction to replace utilities and resurface the parking lot. Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the city will also be working to repaint the streetlight poles on the square due to a defect that causes the paint to peel off, which will be taking place around the Square for 2-3 weeks. The contractor has noted that a power washer will be used to clean the poles, and they will protect the areas with tarps and block the water overspray.
