Knoxville Mayor Brian Hatch will be welcoming guests to the Knoxville Air Show and Family Festival next week in a thrilling way.
The mayor will be with the Des Moines Skydivers Club to skydive right in the middle of all of the festivities to kick off the exciting community event on Saturday, September 30th. This event at the Knoxville Municipal Airport will be filled with many activities all day long, including the family fun festival starting at 1:30 and the airshow starting at 4:30. There will be food trucks available all day and the event will end with an evening concert. Hatch mentioned that he is excited for the opportunity.
“It’s exciting. I’m really excited about it. I thought it was such a great idea and a wonderful opportunity for myself personally, so I agreed to go up there and have them shove me out of a plane because I don’t know if I’m really willing to jump on my own to welcome the crowd and kick it off that evening. I’m just thrilled about it, it’s going to be a wonderful event.”
