It was closer than expected, but the class 4A #14 Knoxville Volleyball Squad found a way to pull off the sweep at Clarke on Tuesday night. The Panthers looked to be on their way to a dominating match winning set one 25-16, but sets two and three Knoxville was plagued with hitting a serving errors that allowed Clarke to claw back after holding sizable leads. Brittany Bacorn had 13 kills, 24 assists , and 11 digs. Bacorn who already has surpassed the 1,000 career kills and digs mark is just 12 assists from getting to 1,000 as well. Hannah Dunkin was Miss Everything as she sent down 11 kills, was 15/16 serving with two aces and had ten digs. Abbie Keitges had 14 digs 11/13 serving with three aces and Katie Deaver was perfect in 13 serve attempts with two aces. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports likes the way her team is playing, and thinks they can be even better as the midpoint of the season comes up.

“We have a lot of volleyball between now and those pairings come and a lot of volleyball after the pairings come out. I think we’ve been playing good volleyball but I don’t think we’ve reached our max yet.”

Knoxville is now 14-6 and 4-0 in South Central Conference play and will head to the Boone Invitational on Saturday.
