The Pleasantville volleyball team continues to impress after a 3-0 sweep of West Central Conference opponent Madrid Tuesday night.
The Trojans have now won 14 of their last 16 matches and showed no sign of slowing down on Tuesday. The Trojans defeated the Tigers 25-20 in the first set after a late run by Madrid at the end of the set. Pleasantville dominated the second and third sets, picking up 25-13 and 25-11 wins to complete the sweep. Pleasantville Volleyball Coach Joel Allman mentioned that his team continues to improve on consistency.
“I feel like we’re just getting more comfortable with each other in each rotation. The other thing is, we’re getting more consistent with our practice effort. We’re getting more consistent with our lifting effort, and so I think that is really showing up when we play matches. Just preparation has been more consistent which I feel has led to more confidence on the floor.”
After the win, Pleasantville improves to 18-6 overall on the season and 2-2 in the conference. The Trojans will be back in action next Tuesday against Van Meter.
