The class 4A #14 Knoxville Volleyball Squad will play in second Saturday meet in as many weeks as the Panthers head to the Boone Invitational. Knoxville will see larger schools such as Ames and smaller but ranked programs like class 2A #6 Treynor. Also on the Panthers schedule in preliminary play will be Grandview Christian, and Forest City. A couple of weeks ago, Panthers senior Brittany Bacorn achieved career kill number 1,000 and last week reached the 1,000 career digs mark. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Bacorn would be the first player in program history to achieve 1,000 in all three categories, which is not a small feat considering the great players in program history that went before her.
Keitges: “Now that she’s primarily setting in our 5/1 I need to do some math to see how close she is to 1,000 career assists. I don’t know if that will make it a trifecta of volleyball stats.”
Bacorn is planning to continue her volleyball career as she has committed to play at the University of Tulsa next year.
