Author Linda McCann will present her latest book, Iowa’s Rosie the Riveters, at the Webb Shadle Public Library in Pleasantville next week.

McCann’s new book focuses on Rosie the Riveters in Iowa, which was a name used to encourage women to go to work during World War II as men fought in the war. During that time, Iowa had 70 businesses that used women to meet production of military needs. McCann spoke with 35 women who had worked as Rosie’s, with some working in Iowa and others that went to the West Coast. During the presentation, she will discuss those conversations, while also exploring Iowa history and stories. Copies of Iowa’s Rosie the Riveters will be available for purchase and signing for $20 at the event.

The presentation with author Linda McCann will take place on Friday, September 29th at 6 p.m.
