After opening up district play with a victory, the Pella Christian football team looks to improve to 2-0 at home tonight against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
The Eagles, fresh off a 42-14 victory over Pleasantville last week, aim to stay in a tie for first place in Class 1A District 6 with Sigourney Keota ahead of the two programs meeting next week. Meanwhile, the Rockets also sit at 1-0 in district play after they went on the road and defeated Colfax-Mingo 34-7 last Friday. Coming off their win a week ago, Pella Christian head coach Rich Kacmarynski says his squad is looking to keep that momentum throughout district play.
“Well, they’ve got some nice size. They’re a good football team, so we can’t take anything for granted. I thought we responded well in the second half against Pleasantville and we’re looking to roll that momentum into the game tonight against Eddyville.”
