The Central College football team will try to bounce back from its first loss of the season last Saturday against Coe when they battle Luther this afternoon in Decorah.

The Dutch dropped to 2-1 on the season with their 19-11 setback against the Kohawks, while the Norse are 0-2. They fell in their league opener last Saturday to Loras, 44-29.

Central Coach Jeff McMartin says that they studied the miscues that cost them against Coe, and then quickly turned their attention to Luther.

“The Coe thing, you want to learn from your mistakes and don’t make a failure a final thing. We’ve done the best that we know how to do that. And then I think that’s it a chance to get ready for what’s in front of you. Luther’s a very improved team and they’re going to be excited and ready to go and they’re going to be hungry. We have to make sure we’re ready to match and exceed that.”

Kickoff is today at 1:00 at Carlson Stadium in Decorah. Trevor Castle and Don DeWaard are calling the action live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame at 12:35.
