The 2023 Knoxville Cancer Relay raised over $30,000 and they are still striving for more.

The KCR team achieved its goal of running across Iowa last week to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Fifteen runners ran the 275 miles from Muscatine to Council Bluffs in less than 48 hours, while more than 50 runners logged 619 miles running a course around Knoxville. Members of both efforts, led by honorary captain Dave Garcia, delivered the game ball before the Knoxville Panthers’ football game before the statewide crew continued west on Highway 92. 

The team has raised more than $30,000 toward its $50,000 goal. It plans a post-relay party at Peace Tree Brewing from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 14. To donate to the team’s efforts, go to Knoxville Cancer Relay on Facebook or call Steve Linsley at 641-820-0044.
