The class 4A #13 Knoxville Volleyball Squad had it about as easy as it could Tuesday night in a dominating three sets to none sweep over Cardinal 25-6, 25-8, and 25-18 in the Panthers Digging For a Cure Night as they helped raise money and awareness for the fight against Cancer. The Panthers did just about whatever they wanted against an overmatched Comet squad. Ella Breazeale had eight kills, while Rylyn McCarty had a near perfect night in hitting up front with seven kills and no errors. Abbie Keitges was perfect behind the serve line in 27 attempts with six aces and ten digs, while Brittany Bacorn has 27 assists. Senior player Anna Buttell told KNIA/KRLS Sports the focus was what made quick work of Cardinal.

Buttell: “We knew coming into it it wouldn’t be the hardest game ever. We have a tendency of playing down to teams in the past, so I don’t think we did that, so I’m pretty proud of us for that.”

Knoxville is now 17-7 and 5-0 in the South Central Conference. The Panthers are off until Tuesday when they play at Centerville, a win would net them no worse than a tie for the conference title.
