Marion County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom hosted local fourth graders for a field trip at the Marion County Fairgrounds on Tuesday.
Four schools in Marion County were in attendance for the event. Pella and Twin Cedars schools were at the morning session, while Knoxville and Pella Christian schools were at the afternoon session. Between the schools, roughly 320 students toured the different aspects of agriculture. The field trip included eight different presenters that shared about their field within the agriculture industry. Marion County Farm Bureau Outreach Coordinator Jill De Bruin said the the event as a whole was a success.
“We saw a lot of kids learning good things about agriculture and we just have to thank our volunteers, we have to thank our presenters and we thank the teachers who took time out of their busy school schedule to make agriculture important for their students.”
