The Norwalk volleyball team celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 sweep of Pella Christian on Tuesday, defeating the Eagles 25-19, 25-14, 25-13.

Grace Dehmer led the Class 4A seventh-ranked Warriors with 16 digs and did a great job in serve receive, according to head coach John Fulton. Freshman Hadley Michael set 29 assists on the night, Noelle Sutcliffe spiked 15 kills and Ava McKay added six kills.

Norwalk improved to 4-1 in Little Hawkeye Conference play and 17-12 overall. Pella Christian is now 0-5 in the conference and 9-12 overall.

Nine Warrior seniors were recognized with their parents prior to the match, including Katie Larson, Grace Dehmer, Ava Johnson, Ava McKay, Noelle Sutcliffe, Tessa Livingston, Grace Irlmeier, Nina Maitan and Tamiris Ismagambetova.

Coach Fulton tells KNIA-KRLS Sports that the team played great on Senior Night, and that the coaching staff appreciates the seniors for all of their contributions to the program. “They have done a great job setting the standard the last couple of years and we are excited to see what the rest of the year brings and what their future will bring,” he said.

The Warriors’ next match will be Tuesday, October 3, when they host Class 4A No. 12 Dallas Center-Grimes.
