Central Volleyball Team Vanquishes Knox
It was another sweep for the Central College volleyball team Wednesday night as it blanked Knox College (Ill.) 25-13, 25-20, 25-16.
Central (13-2) logged its eighth sweep of the season with its victory over the Prairie Fire (0-9). Libero Colleen Kenney led the Dutch in service aces (3) and digs (27). Middle hitter Elyse Johnson had four block assists. Setter Avery Rexroat had 27 assists. Makayla Ribble added nine assists to go with five kills while playing setter and hitting. Johnson and Gracie Daniels each had eight kills.
Central plays in Decorah Saturday in a triangular with Luther College and the University of Wisconsin – Stout. The match with the Norse will be the American Rivers Conference opener for the Dutch.
Truman State Triumphs Over Central Women’s Tennis Team
An upperclassmen doubles pairing was the lone winner for the Central College women’s tennis team in an 8-1 loss Wednesday against Truman State University.
Paige Farrell and Kalina Schubert were 8-5 winners in the No. 3 doubles match to earn their first win of the season. The Dutch rested most of their lineup that played in the first two conference duals, giving the rest of its team an opportunity to play.
The Dutch host the University of Dubuque at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon and then Loras College Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
