Construction is continuing on the new Melcher-Dallas Junior High and High School building. 

Demolition of the old building took place over the summer and Melcher-Dallas Superintendent Scott Bridges says that the construction of the new building is ahead of schedule.

“They’re putting in all the glass in the front of the building right now, putting in doors. Our hope is by the end of October, that it will be enclosed and the landscaping will be done in the front school yard. It’ll look like a complete building, there will just be more work to be done inside that we’re working on right now. So, currently they’re finishing up the HVAC system, drywall is being installed. We’ll have painters here to paint the gym sometime in October. So, lots of work getting done.”

Bridges added that they are hopeful that the project will be done in time for graduation in May.
