Grabbing their first home win of the season Thursday night, the Pella Christian volleyball team down former Little Hawkeye Conference foe Grinnell 3-1.

The Eagles controlled the match early on, dominating the first set for a 25-16 win. The Tigers bounced back and held a 12-8 advantage in the second set, but Pella Christian responded with a 17-9 run to win the set 25-21 and take a 2-0 lead in the match. On the brink of being swept, Grinnell led by as many as 10 in the third set, en route to a 25-18 victory to extend the match. The fourth set went back and forth and needed extra points to determine a winner, but in the end, the Eagles prevailed with a 29-27 win to take the game. Ema Zula and Addison Bandstra combined to lead the Pella Christian offensive attack with 12 kills each, while Chloe Huisman dished out 41 assists to help the Eagles improve to 10-12 on the season. 

The Pella Christian volleyball team has tonight off, before competing in the Greene County Tournament on Saturday at 9 a.m.
