full-team-3

The #9 Nevada Cubs completely dominated Knoxville in every inch of the game on Friday as the Panthers never could get going offensively and found it tough to stop the Cubs in a 43-0 loss heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The Cubs got going early with a quick score less than 2:00 into the game and quickly by half-time had enough points to invoke running clock for the entire 2nd half. Knoxville at times was its own worst enemy committing eight penalties for 60 yards, several of those on defense. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team showed at times they were able to move the ball, but it was not good enough.

Dunkin: “It seemed like between the 30s we were able to get the pass game going and the guys got on their blocks. But we seemed to shoot ourselves in the foot and that makes it tougher to do some of the things we want to do.”

Knoxville was held to -6 yards rushing and was outgunned by Nevada 389-101. Knoxville is now 2-4 this season and 0-2 in district play. The Panthers will host top ranked Creston next Friday.
