The PCM football team won in commanding fashion on the road Friday night defeating Vinton-Shellsburg 49-15 in a game heard live on the KRLS3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com.
The Mustangs’ offensive attack was once again led by Adrein Robbins, who had a monster game, rushing for just shy of 300 yards and three touchdowns. Gavin Van Gorp threw for two touchdown passes on the night, and ran for another two scores. The PCM defense only allowed one big play throughout the game and shut down the Vikings’ rushing attack. PCM Head Coach Greg Bonnett said that he was pleased with his team’s efforts.
“I don’t really have anything negative to say. I thought we were firing on all cylinders pretty well tonight. We gave up a couple plays down the middle there, but overall I thought it was a really good performance by the offense, defense, and special teams. We had a couple fumbles and things like that which we will talk about, but overall I was really happy with how we played tonight after our third road trip to this area in seven days.”
The Mustangs improved to 4-2 overall on the season and 3-0 in the district. PCM will be at home next week when they take on West Marshall.
