The Simpson College football team battles the Beavers of Buena Vista this afternoon in an American Rivers Conference contest, with both teams looking for their first conference victory. The 0-2 Storm put up just 224 yards of total offense last week against perhaps the best defense in the country in Wartburg, but defensively they held the Knights out of the end zone for the first quarter and halfway through the second. Head coach Reed Hoskins tells KNIA Sports they will have to come out with that same intensity, and maintain it throughout the game, to pick up a win against Buena Vista.

“When is Simpson football going to play four quarter of their best football, we haven’t. It’s been maybe one or two or three quarters out of the game, and the rest really biting us in the heels. Our guys should have confidence from the things they’ve been able to do, and it’s just that confidence comes from repeated success. Not just once or twice, and that’s a part of what we are really trying to push towards.”

The game can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rick Wilson on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 12:35, with kickoff at 1pm.
