Construction on the new high school and junior high buildings and the gymnasium at Melcher-Dallas is ahead of schedule.
The project will provide significant upgrades for the ag and shop, music, and art departments. The construction in the gym will include a new fitness center that will be open to the public during non-school hours. Melcher-Dallas Superintendent Scott Bridges says that both will be nice additions to the school.
“It will be as good as any facility around. We’ll have a competition gym, and looking down into the gym from above there’ll be a fitness center, and you’ll be able to look through windows down into the gym, so you could actually watch a game from the fitness center if you want to. We’re gonna have state of the art equipment up there, we’re making those plans right now as far as fitness equipment goes, but it’s going to be high quality stuff.”
