Knoxville Police Officer Kyle Keller has been promoted to Sergeant.
Keller began his law enforcement career with the Knoxville Police Department in April of 2007. That same year, he graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) with the 219th Class. Since that time, he has served the community as a patrol officer, narcotics detective, active threat instructor, and for the past 9 years as our school resource officer (SRO). Since 2016 he has been a member of the Iowa Association of School Resource Officers (IASRO) and was elected as president of the association in 2021, serving in this role for two years. He currently serves IASRO as their secretary. He is also a member of the Nationals Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO).
Internally, Keller serves the department as a field training officer, defensive tactics instructor, evidence
technician, and reserve police department liaison.
