Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.

This is a meeting held the first Monday of every month that gives different community health organizations an opportunity to share updates and provide information. There is also a presentation given at each provider’s meeting. This month’s presentation was about Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention (iSTEP) , which is a statewide group led by students and supported by adults to take action against tobacco use. Marion County Public Health Tobacco Prevention Coordinator Del Bennett encourages more groups to come out to this event each month.

“If there is an organization that would like to come to the providers meeting they can either call out here to public health and ask to speak to me and I can get them on the list, or they can just come out the first Monday of the month at 9:30, sit in and listen, and see if it is for them.”
