The PCM volleyball team fell in straight sets Monday night to Heart of Iowa Conference opponent Roland-Story on senior night.

The Mustang seniors were introduced with their parents before the match, and received a strong ovation for all their efforts over their time playing for PCM. The Mustangs dropped the first set to the Norseman 25-15, and then kept it close in the second set, but ultimately came up short 25-21. In the third set, the Mustangs couldn’t rally and ended up falling 25-16. PCM volleyball senior Eliana Buswell says it was a bittersweet moment for her last time playing in front of the home crowd.

“It’s really sad, but it also kind of excites me just because I’m moving on to something scary but different. It is very sad that I’m done playing with my favorite people on the home court.”

Buswell has had a successful senior season for the Mustangs, and next year she will be pursuing an event management education at Iowa State University. After the loss, PCM falls to 16-11 overall on the season, and 1-4 in the conference. The Mustangs will be back in action Thursday at South Hamilton.
