Habitat for Humanity of Marion County is working on three housing projects in the county.
The organization has broke ground on homes in Knoxville and Bussey, and will be breaking ground on a property in Pleasantville the last week of October. Habitat for Humanity of Marion County Executive Director Amy Meyer says their mission is to provide safe and affordable housing for everyone.
“We know that, especially now with interest rates going up housing prices going up, it’s not an easy thing for someone to get their first home. So, we’re here for that and we do build homes and then we sell them to homeowners at a zero interest mortgage. So, it’s a pretty good deal for them.”
