The Norwalk volleyball team wrapped up conference play with an impressive sweep of Dallas Center-Grimes on Pink Out Night Tuesday, defeating the Mustangs 25-19, 25-11, 25-15.
The Class 4A 9th-ranked Warriors improved to 18-12 overall and finished 5-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, clinching at least a second-place finish. Indianola is 5-0 in league play with one game remaining. DC-G, which is ranked 12th in 4A, dropped to 16-10 overall and 2-3 in the LHC.
Norwalk coach John Fulton tells KNIA-KRLS Sports that excellent serve receive passing set the table for a great night of offense. “We were able to run the offense and the girls felt comfortable and played some of our best volleyball of the season,” Fulton said. “It was good to get a Homecoming win amid all the distractions that come with that, and I’m proud of how we played and were in control all night.”
The Warriors will now have more than a week off before traveling to Newton for the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament on Thursday, October 12. This year’s regional tournament pairings are expected to be released sometime this week.
