Wrapping up regular season action Tuesday night, the Class 2A #17 ranked Pella Christian boys cross country team took third place and the girls team took 5th place at the Centerville Big Red Invitational.

The Eagle boys had with 76 points on the night, finishing behind 2A #3 Chariton and 3A #15 Fort Madison. Pella Christian’s girls squad posted 154 points in the meet, finishing behind 2A #3 Albia, 3A #19 Fort Madison, 2A #18 PCM, and Oskaloosa. Sawyer Meinders was the top runner for the Eagle boys, completing the course at Honey Creek Resort State Park in 16:53.75 to take fifth place. Deacon Branderhorst (17:14.39) and Tysen De Vries (17:31.44) also finished top 15 for the Pella Christian boys, taking 11th and 15th respectively. Bailey Vos continued her strong sophomore campaign for the Eagle girls, finishing in fifth place with a time of 19:56.08. Jaclyn Holmes (20:38.87) was also a top 10 finisher for the P.C. girls, finishing in 10th place. Find full results from the Centerville Big Red Invitational here.

The Pella Christian cross country teams will next compete on Monday, running in the Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Indianola’s Pickard Park.
