American Legion Post 89 in Pella donated a U.S. Flag to the Career Academy of Pella this week. Teacher Sheila Winburn says the gift was made after welding classes at the Career Academy assisted with the Avenue of Flags displays at Oakwood and Graceland Cemeteries, by creating new steel plugs for pole mounting. Winburn says the flag donation was extra meaningful, with her own children both serving in the military.
