The Knoxville Football Squad fell to the #2 ranked Creston 56-14 on Friday night heard live on 95.3 KNIA. The red and black Panthers jumped on top 14-0 in the 1st quarter, doubled it to 28-0 by halftime and had the running clock in the 2nd half leading 42-0. However Knoxville would score two quick touchdowns in the 4th quarter on a Rylan Robinson 44 yard run and then a few minutes later Kaison Wilder hauled in a 37 yard pass from Brenden Woolsey to make it 42-14 to end running clock for a short period, before Creston would up the score to 56-14. Knoxville Coach Matt Dunkin, while disappointed with the loss, told KNIA/KRLS Sports there were some good things to take out of the game.

Dunkin: “The biggest thing we talked about at halftime is the effort. They controlled what they could control and they came out focused in the second half and it was good to see.”

Noah Keefer was 15/25 for 100 yards and two interceptions while Woolsey was 5/8 for 69 yards, a touchdown and a pick. Koby Higginbotham caught six balls for 70 yards. Knoxville is now 2-5 on the season and 0-3 in district play. Knoxville will head to Perry next Friday.
