The PCM football team defeated district opponent West Marshall Friday night 49-20, as heard live on the KRLS3 stream, with strong help from junior running back Adrein Robbins.

On top of a 409 rushing yard rushing performance, Robbins also scored three touchdowns on the night to help his team lock up the number one seed in 2A district six. This game was the story of two halves as the Mustangs and Trojans were tied 14-14 going into halftime. Quarterback Gavin Van Gorp had a one yard rushing touchdown in the first half and he threw a touchdown to senior receiver Griffin Olson. PCM had two costly mistakes with a fumbled punt return and a pick six that put 14 points on the board for the Trojans in the first half.

The second half was all Mustangs and Adrein Robbins stole the show. He scored three times and he was accompanied by two other rushing touchdowns by Shay Burns and Gavin Van Gorp. Adrein Robbins 409 yard night is a PCM single game rushing school record and the 25th most rushing yards by any player for 11 man football in state of Iowa history. PCM Head Football Coach Greg Bonnett is thrilled with how well his star running back compliments a strong offensive line

“He practices hard but when he runs the ball in practice he’s doing everything you see out there too. He does have a pretty dang good offensive line and he will tell you that too. Those guys are just mauling people up there and blocking people on the edge and just playing really physical offensive football right now, so when you combine that with the talent and how electric he is, good things are going to happen and that’s what we have going on right now.”

PCM moves to 5-2 overall on the season and 4-0 in the district. They will be back at home next week when they face the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets, and that game can be heard live on the KRLS3 stream.
