As most of the area deals with severe drought, the first major shot at significant relief in several weeks remains possible later this week. According to the National Weather Service, a few days of mild, sunny skies could give way to multiple rounds of rainfall, starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday. While still a bit far out to project exact totals, many communities could be in line for one-to-two inches of needed precipitation. With it, much cooler conditions will return, with highs in the mid 50s and lows in the 40s expected by the end of the week. The first frost of the season is also possible late Monday into Tuesday.
