The Simpson volleyball team defeated Loras to earn their first American Rivers Conference victory of the season on Friday, then fell to Dubuque on Saturday.

The Storm had only a minor setback against Loras after a first set victory of 25-22, falling in the second set 25-11. Simpson would come back to sweep the remaining two sets 25-21 and 25-13 to earn the 3-1 win.

Against Dubuque, the Storm won the first set 25-21, but couldn’t hold on in the final three falling 25-20, 25-19, and 25-19 to split their ARC doubleheader over the weekend.

Simpson falls to 5-15 overall and 1-2 in conference play, and next hosts rival Central on Wednesday.
