Two Pleasantville Residents were arrested on theft charges in Knoxville on Friday.
A Knoxville Police Officer received a report of a string of under scanning and concealment thefts that occurred at the Knoxville Wal-Mart between July 14th and September 7th of this year. After receiving video and receipts for 21 transactions, it is alleged the Kellie Lewis and Nicholas Boat committed thefts totaling $1,627.22 by not scanning items that they bagged, label switching and likely concealment. There is suspicion that the total value of stolen merchandise could be higher as it is claimed that Boat and Lewis often had an opaque container that was likely full of additional items not included in the reported dollar amount.
Boat and Lewis are both charged with second degree theft, a class D felony.
